Community Advisory Group

Community Advisory Group

Local individuals make up our dynamic Community Advisory Group (CAG). They consult with us to ensure our work meets the needs of the diverse communities we serve. The CAG’s purpose is to involve community members in all levels of the research process, including:

  • Grant applications
  • Study design
  • Gaining informed consent
  • Community education
  • Recruitment efforts
  • Results dissemination
  • Protection of study volunteers

The Community Advisory Group (CAG) brings valuable knowledge to research. It points out local issues and concerns that could affect studies. Members have included health educators, study participants, and people living with HIV/AIDS. We actively seek a diverse representation of our community to join the CAG. This includes people from different racial, ethnic, or religious communities. As well as all expressions of gender and sexual orientation. Lastly, we encourage a wide range of ages to seek CAG membership, including youth.

To become a member of our CAG or provide feedback about our work, please contact us at (628) 217-7400 or bridgehiv@sfdph.org.

Please note CAG meetings are private and open only to members.
